Buffalo Cauliflower Sliders

 

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Head of Cauliflower
  • 4 celery stalks, finely chopped

Batter

  • Flour - 1 cup
  • Cornstarch - 1 tsp (optional)
  • Garlic Powder - 1 tsp
  • Onion Powder - 1 tsp
  • Buffalo Sauce - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Almond Milk or other non-dairy milk - 1 1/2 cups

Buffalo Sauce

  • Franks Red Hot Sauce or Texas Pete - 1 cup
  • Earth Balance (buttery spread) - 1 cup


INSTRUCTIONS

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F 
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper 

Buffalo Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together almond milk and melted Earth Balance 

Cauliflower 

  • Remove leaves and stem from cauliflower
  • Cut head in half
  • Slice 3/4 inch thick slices, then cut those slices in half. 
  • Depending on how large your head is, you should get 8-12 pieces out of it 

Batter 

  • In a large bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients and create well in center 
  • In a small bowl, whisk together all wet ingredients 
  • Add wet ingredients to dry ingredient bowl and stir until combined 

 
Pulling it all together 

  • Dip the cauliflower slices in the batter, make sure completely coated 
  • Shake off excess batter and place on baking tray 
  • Place battered cauliflower in oven and bake for 8 minutes 
  • Brush cauliflower with buffalo sauce to fully coat, then bake for another 8-10 minutes 
  • Brush with buffalo sauce again to fully coat, but don't saturate them and lose crispiness
  • Take a slider bun, put a layer of chopped celery, buffalo cauliflower, then top with vegan ranch dressing.
  • Enjoy!
